Six Different Players Record Hits in Baseball's Loss to Bison, 16-4

Dudley, MA- The Dean College baseball team was downed in their road trip to Nichols College by a final score of 16-4. The Bulldogs now drop to 6-14 (3-2) on the season, while Nichols moves to 9-10.

Through the first four innings of the ballgame, the Bulldogs would be held scoreless. Nichols took the early lead off of consecutive singles, plus several players reaching on sacrifice and error. However, Dean would finally break through in the fifth inning. Tyler Giambra (Prospect, CT) recorded an RBI on a ground out, allowing Nick Amendolara (Bayville, NY) to score. With the Bison grabbing two more in the bottom of the fifth, Dean would trail 10-1 going into the latter half.

The Bulldogs would strike again in the seventh. Luke Fahey (Glastonbury, CT) would continue his hot streak, blasting a two-run home run to bring Dean within manageable distance. Another run would come across in the eighth with James Galati (Eastchester, NY) recording an RBI single, scoring Justin Horton (Trumbull, CT). However, with Nichols adding another run in the bottom half, the Bison would go on to seal the game by a final score of 16-4.

Starter Spencer Lichstrahl (Fort Lauderdale, FL) would get the loss on the mound, pitching three innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits, three walks, and one strikeout. The Bulldogs saw a total of six pitchers appear, with Zach Handfield (Auburn, MA) finishing the day in the eighth. 

The Bulldogs will continue their road trip this Friday, April 4th, traveling to Lasell University for a 3:00PM and 6:00PM Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) series.
