Lexington, MA- The Dean College baseball team was rendered scoreless in their night game matchup with Lesley University. The 13-0 final score moves Dean to 6-24 (3-9) on the year, while Lesley moves to 12-12.
The Bulldogs struggled offensively, managing only three hits and two walks throughout the game. Lesley took an early lead in the first inning, capitalizing on an error by Jadon Murakami (Aiea, HI) to score an unearned run. The Lynx then added two runs in the second and two more in the third, building a commanding 6–0 lead.?
Dean's pitching staff faced challenges against Lesley's offense. Starter Jayden Villalta (0–4) took the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) over two innings. Five additional pitchers would come in to relieve Villalta, but the Bulldogs unable to contain the Lynx's offense. Lesley added six additional runs in the sixth inning, further extending their lead to 13–0.? After a blank top of the seventh, the game would end by the same score.
Offensively, the Bulldogs were able to grab the previously mentioned three hits. Gavin Goss (Glenwood Landing, NY), Jordan Almendarez (Las Vegas, NV), and James Galati (Eastchester, NY) would each contribute to that mark. Four additional playes would also walk in the ballgame.Â
After playing three straight games, the Bulldogs will return home on Saturday, April 19th, at 1:00PM. The team will host the University of Saint Joseph (CT) in a Senior Day matchup. Senior Day festivities will begin a approximately 12:45PM.
