Boston, MA- The Dean College men's volleyball team fell in their final road match of the season to Emmanuel College (MA) by a final score of 3-0. The Bulldogs now drop to 3-21 (0-15) on the season, while Emmanuel moves to 16-10 (8-3).
The Bulldogs struggled from the outset, with Emmanuel taking the first set decisively 25-10. Dean's offense was led by Noah Allan (Windham, NH), who recorded a team-high five kills, but Emmanuel's dominant attack proved too much to handle. The Bulldogs managed only six kills in the opening set, while Emmanuel racked up 14, led by Thor Yingling's five kills. Dean's defense was also under pressure, with Emmanuel finishing with a .480 attack percentage in the first set.
The second set saw improvement from Dean, but Emmanuel continued their dominance, winning 25-18. Arthur Felicio (Saugus, Brazil) contributed significantly for Dean, with three kills and one service ace, but it wasn't enough to slow down Emmanuel's offensive onslaught. Emmanuel's Jehuda Tawalujan excelled in setting up his teammates, finishing with 25 assists in the match.
In the third set, Dean fought hard but ultimately fell 25-11, securing only three kills. Emmanuel finished strong with a well-rounded attack, and Dean's defense, while putting up a respectable 23 digs, couldn't prevent the offense. Emmanuel's Yingling continued to lead the charge with nine kills and five digs, further helping his team clinch the sweep.
Despite the loss, Hunter Armitage (Westerly, RI) and Felicio had notable performances with 10 assists and 8 digs, respectively. Jerney Price (San Antonio, TX) finished with three total kills, while Nunu Coward-Jackson (Fresno, CA) finished with two. Libero Mason Rua (Sao Pedro Du Sol, Portugal) also finished with three digs on the night.Â
