Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Men's Volleyball Taken Down in Final Tri-Match of the Season, 0-2

Boston, MA - The Dean College men's volleyball team was taken down in their final tri-match of the season, falling to both Emerson College and Elms College by a final score of 0-3. Dean now moves to 3-20 (0-11) on the season.

Match One: Emerson College 3, Dean College 0
The Bulldogs faced Emerson in he first match of the day, with Emerson sweeping the showdown by a score of 3-0 (25-12, 25-8, 25-22). Dean struggled with their offense, totaling only 12 kills across the three sets and hitting just .087 as a team. Nunu Coward-Jackson (Fresno, CA) was the Bulldogs' top attacker, registering 3 kills on 8 attempts, while Noah Allan (Windham, NH) added 4 kills, and Arthur Felicio (Saugus, Brazil) contributed 3. Despite their offensive challenges, Dean's defense was solid, with Hunter Armitage (Westerly, RI) recording 2 blocks and 3 digs, while Felicio added 2 digs.

Emerson led the match from start to finish, led by Theo Hackett with 9 kills, followed by Chase Fagen with 7 kills. Dean managed a brief push in the third set, leading at one point, but Emerson's balanced attack and steady serving sealed the victory.

Match Two: Elms College 3, Dean College 0
In a rematch from just a few short weeks ago, the Bulldogs had an opportunity to cash-in against the Blazers. However, they were unable to capitalize, falling by a score of 3-0. The Bulldogs were competitive in the first and third sets, but struggled offensively throughout the match. In the first set, Dean held their own. However, a few errors allowed Elms to pull away and win the set 25-20. Allan led the Bulldogs with 4 kills, while Armitage added 6 assists. Set two saw Dean's offense falter even more, as they struggled with their attack percentage, ultimately dropping the set 25-18. Allan again showed effort, contributing 3 kills in the set, but the Bulldogs couldn't find consistency against Elms' aggressive play.

In the final set, Dean rallied briefly, led by Allan's 4 kills. Despite solid defensive efforts, including 7 digs from Casey DuBois (Dracut, MA), the Bulldogs couldn't keep up with Elms' potent offensive combination of Nicholas Uschmann and John Bellafronte, who contributed 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Elms won the third set 25-20, closing out the match with a 3-0 sweep.

The Bulldogs play next on April 1st in a road match with Emmanuel College. They return back home on Thursday, April 1st, in a 7:00PM contest versus #20 Lasell University.
