Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse Catapults to 13-4 Victory Over Leopards

Franklin, MA- The Dean College women's lacrosse team left no doubts on Thursday afternoon, securing a 13-4 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology. Dean now moves to 3-3 (0-1) on the year, while the Leopards fall to 3-2 (0-0).

Dean jumped out to an early lead with Natalie Peterson (Hudson, MA) scoring unassisted just over 12 minutes into the game. The Bulldogs continued to build momentum, with Peterson adding two more goals in the second quarter, and Allie Stockwell (Burrillville, RI) contributing a goal assisted by Haley Gaunt (Johnston, RI). By the end of the first half, Dean held a commanding 6-0 lead.

In the second half, Dean's offensive surge continued, as Stockwell and Gaunt each added another goal, and Nina Medeiros (Fairhaven, MA) scored an unassisted goal. Peterson, Gaunt, and Stockwell led the Bulldogs' high-powered attack, combining for 10 of the team's 13 goals. Stockwell also recorded her first career hat trick in the process. Despite Wentworth's efforts, which included a late push with four goals in the final quarter, the Bulldogs' defensive efforts and commanding lead were enough to secure the win. Dean's defense, led by strong individual performances, helped keep Wentworth scoreless for the first three quarters, cementing a decisive victory.

In addition to their offensive success, Goalkeeper Shea Cassani (Belgrade, ME) impressed in her first collegiate start. The sophomore allowed only four goals, all of which came in the final period. This dominant performance from both Cassani and the attack propelled Dean back to .500 on the year.

The Bulldogs end their homestand on a high note. They will travel to Lasell University on Sunday for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup at 1:00PM.
