Women's Basketball Bested By Emmanuel, 103-50

Boston, MA.- The Dean College women's basketball fell in their Saturday road match against Emmanuel College, 103-50. The Bulldogs now move to 5-15 (0-8) on the year, while the Saints advance to 10-9 (5-3).

The first half did not begin in favor of the Bulldogs, dropping a 10-3 run to the Saints within the first four minutes of the contest. However, several players got off to strong starts. Alexandria Paquet (Santa Maria, CA) and Azaria Landry (Petersburg, VA) each connected on three-pointers, while Tori Viau (Johnston ,RI) got on the board with a conversion from the field. The second quarter saw much of the same success, with the addition of Maranda Cournoyer (Milville, MA) scoring on a successful layup. At the end of the first half, the Bulldogs trailed the Saints 49-20.

During the second half, the Saints came out of the locker room with a burst, going on a 10-2 run versus Dean. Landry and Abi Boutin (Rocky Hill, CT) stopped the momentum, capitalizing on open space in the paint and taking free throws as available. Cournoyer also produced scoring for Dean, securing a layup after a nice drive to the basket. However, it would be Emmanuel coming away with the victory by a final score of 103-50.

Tori Viau and Azaria Landry led the Bulldogs in scoring, producing 15 points each. Landry also impressed with seven total steals and one rebound. Alexandria Paquet finished with eight points, and Abi Boutin secured four points on the night. Paquet and Kendrah Doane (New Salem, MA) led the way in rebounds for Dean, producing four each.
