Doane's Career-High 23 Points Propel Women's Basketball to Win Over MLCA, 75-43

Franklin, MA- The Dean College Women's Basketball team was victorious on Wednesday evening, defeating the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) by a final score of 75-43. Dean now improves to 3-6 overall on the season, while the Trailblazers drop to 0-4.

Noteworthy Marks:
-Guard Kendrah Doane (New Salem, MA) had one of the best performances of her career last night. The junior scored a career-high 23 points, along with three assists, eight rebounds (seven defensive), and two steals. She would only commit one foul in the ballgame as well. 

How it Happened:
-Although they sat in the driver's seat for the majority of the game, the Bulldogs struggling to find their offensive tune in the early minutes. MCLA would take a lead as high as six points (5:33 left in Q1), taking advantage of open space inside the paint. 
-At the end of the first quarter, the Bulldogs would rally back to tie the game at 16 points each. First-year guard Hallie Stokes (Windermere, FL) would make her collegiate debut and aid the Bulldogs in the early going. She would knock down one of two three-point attempts and secure a defensive board. Jordan Ellis (Bridgeport, CT) would also play a large role in the first quarter, scoring seven points.
-With the game tied at the start of the second, Dean quickly took the lead and never looked back. Azaria Landry (Lacey, WA) opened with a layup, followed by another strong basket from senior Abigail Lacy (Arroyo Grande, CA). 
-Doane would bulldoze her way into the box score, scoring 18 points, all of which from three-pointers. 
-At the end of the half, the Bulldogs would have a commanding 20 point lead, 42-22. 
-The second half saw much fo the same tempo from Dean. The Bulldogs would continue their offensive dominance, scoring 33 more points through two quarters. They would also dominate the rebound game on both sides of the court, securing 28 total points in the two frames.
-First-year Kenzie Sherburne (Durham, NY) would have a solid fourth quarter, scoring seven points with a defensive rebound. 
-Dean stand their ground and will the ballgame by a final score of 75-43.
