Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Rides Into Holidays with Victory Over UMaine Fort Kent, 93-84

Franklin, MA- The Dean College Men's Basketball team rode into the holiday season on Saturday afternoon, taking down the University of Maine at Fort Kent by a final score of 93-84. With the victory, Dean improves their win streak to four games and advances to 8-3 on the season. Meanwhile, the Bengals drop to 5-7 overall.

How it Happened:
-Although the Bulldogs opened with the early score, the took time to fine their offensive rhythm. Izayah Porter (Jonesboro, GA) would be the first to score for Dean, grabbing a quick layup underneath the basket. Cedric Louis (Miami, FL) would also contribute in the early going for the Bulldogs.
-However, the Bengals quickly found their way back into the game, grabbing six straight points from Sam Williams. He would start with a three-pointer, followed by another three-point effort on a drawn foul.
-Fort Kent would take a brief lead four minutes in off a basket from Elijah Martinez. A three-point shot from Naser Motley (Everett, WA) would negate it shortly after.
-The Bulldogs began to pull away at the mid section of the half. Christian Yeates (Atlanta, GA) began to heat up, contributing both inside the paint and beyond the arch. He would eventually score a smooth layup on a fast break, giving Dean a seven point advantage.
-At the end of the first half, Dean led the Bengals by a score of 56-46. A point of interest, though, would be fouls. Both Donnary Fontenot (Atlanta, GA) and Randy Vasquez (Methuen, MA) would get into foul trouble early in the first half.
-The Bulldogs continued their barrage in the second half, climbing to a lead as high as 18 points. Fort Kent would grab scattered baskets in-between, but Dean ultimately controlled the pace of play. Fouls would also become less of a concern, with Dean continuing to minimize their time on defense.
-With one minute to play, the Bengals would make a small comeback. They would bring it as close as six points to put them in striking distance.
-However, the Bulldogs forced them into foul trouble to ultimately seal the win. Antonio Speed would foul out of the game, allowing Dean to grab its final points. They would win by a final score of 93-84.
