Lacy, Ellis Record Double-Doubles in Road Victory Over Fitchburg State, 66-61

Fitchburg, MA- The Dean College Women's Basketball team was victorious on the road versus Fitchburg State University, winning by a final score of 66-61. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 2-6 on the year, while the Falcons drop to 2-4.

How it Happened:
-Dean would control the pace of the first quarter, scoring seventeen points and nearly possessing a double-digit lead over the Falcons. Senior Abigail Lacy (Arroyo Grande, CA) would lead the Bulldogs in first quarter scoring, producing six points in the opening frame. Kendrah Doane (New Salem, MA) would also play a large role, scoring five in the opening quarter.
-It would a quiet second quarter for both sides, with only 26 combined points being scored. Fitchburg, however, would out-score Dean 15-11 going into the locker room. They would possess a small lead, 25-24, with just over one minute remaining. However, strong layups from both Azaria Landry (Lacey, WA) and Jordan Ellis (Bridgeport, CT) would give the Bulldogs the lead once again. Dean led by three points at the half.
-In the third quarter, Dean would pull away once again, outscoring the Falcons 22-18. Landry would have her best quarter of the game, scoring 11 points while shooting just under 40 percent from the field. She also had one defensive rebound in the frame. 
-While Fitchburg State once again outscored the Bulldogs, Dean would eventually hang-on seal the victory by a final score of 66-61. Lacy would stand tall for the Bulldogs, scoring eight more points in the final frame. 
-Dean also took advantage of a desperate Fitchburg team, converting on free throws after several personal fouls. Doane would be at the line, scoring all four of the final points for Dean.
