Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lacy Scores Career-High 37 Points in Loss to Worcester State, 95-79

Worcester, MA- The Dean College Women's Basketball team fell on road on Thursday night to Worcester State University by a final score of 95-79. With the loss, the Bulldogs drop to 1-6 overall, while the Lancers improve to 3-3.

How it Happened:
-The Bulldogs opened with a strong first quarter against the Lancers, led by senior Abigail Lacy (Arroyo Grande, CA). Worcester State would score seven of the game's first nine points, but the Bulldogs quickly fought back. Lacy would draw a foul and knock down a pair of free throws, eventually setting up a three-point play from junior Kendrah Doane (New Salem, MA).
-Shortly after, Lacy would score a three-pointer of her own, cutting WSU's lead down to just four points. The Lancers would pull away in the final minutes of the quarter, leading 24-19 after the first ten minutes.
-The Lancers would narrowly outscore Dean in the second quarter, 20-17, and lead going into the locker room by a score of 44-36. Lacy would once again lead the Bulldogs in offensive production, posting eight points, two boards, and one steal. She would already have nineteen points at halftime.
-Worcester State continued to outpace the Bulldogs through the second half, outscoring them 51-43. However, Dean rallied back in the fourth quarter to match their momentum. The Bulldogs would score 25 points in the final frame, just one point shy of the Lancers' total.
-Dean would shoot 45 percent from the field in the final frame and make all six attempts at the free throw line. This would be the most efficient the Bulldogs would be from the field this season.
-Lacy had a stunning performance, finishing the game with a career-high 37 points in the game. She also posted six rebounds through all four quarters.

Standouts:
-Lacy (37 Points, Assist, 6 Rebounds, Steal)
-Azaria Landry (Lacey, WA) (18 Points, Assist, 4 Rebounds, 2 Steals)
-Doane (10 Points, 2 Assists, 6 Rebounds)
