Bulldogs' Offense Explodes in Mid-Week Win Over Leopards, 86-56

Franklin, MA- The Dean College Women's Basketball team recorded their first win of the season in dominant fashion on Monday night over Wentworth Institute of Technology with a 85-56 win at Pieri Gymnasium. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 1-2 on the season, while the Leopards drop to 0-2.

-Dean's 85 points as a team was the highest posted since a loss to Mitchell College in overtime last December, where the Bulldogs fell to the Mariners 86-83.
The Bulldogs finished the game shooting 13-of-32 behind the arch, good for 40.6%.

How it Happened:
-The Leopards opened the first minutes of game capitalizing on a handful of fast breaks, resulting in an 11-5 Wentworth run. The Bulldogs were able to pull ahead with a three-pointer from Kendrah Doane (New Salem, MA), and a pair of layups from Azaria Landry (Lacey, WA) and Natalie Kerstein (Middleboro, MA).
-The second quarter of action featured a barrage of Dean College three-pointers, including three's from Lacy, Jordan Ellis (Bridgeport, CT) and Kerstein. The Bulldogs finished the quarter on a 19-3 run over the final four minutes to build a 41-28 entering the half.
-Dean continued their offensive dominance throughout the third quarter, outscoring Wentworth 27-13 for the Bulldogs' most productive quarter of the young season.  The Bulldogs shot 55% from the field through the ten minutes of gameplay, draining four-of-nine shots from behind the arch.
-The Bulldogs entered cruise control throughout the fourth quarter, matching pace with the Leopards as the clock continued to dwindle. With two minutes to play, Lacy recorded her 1,000th career point in her collegiate career, capping off the 19 total she scored. Kerstein led Dean in scoring, with 25 points off the bench. Landry finished with 21, and Ellis added 11.
