Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Blazes to Conference Victory Over Elms, 3-2

Franklin, MA- The Dean College Men's Soccer team grabbed a crucial Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Elms College by a score of 3-2. With the win, Dean now improves to 5-6-2 (4-3-0 GNAC) while Elms drops to 6-6-1 (2-3-1 GNAC).

Noteworthy Marks:
-Ethan Henderson (Hartlepool, England) officially extended his goal streak to three games. He now has 12 points on the year.
-Clay Tyler (Attleboro, MA) recorded an assist, now possessing five points in two games.
-Both John Pordge (Wayland, MA) and Pablo Morineau Nacif (Redding, CT) scored their first career goals in the match.

How it Happened:
-From the moment the match began, both sides prepared for the long haul. The opening minutes consisted of physical play and only five shots combined. Two of those shots were from Dean's Henderson, who was looking to extend his goal streak to three games.
-The Bulldogs would be the first to break through in the box score. Off a quick tip from Henderson, Morineau Nacif scored his first career goal, giving Dean the 1-0 advantage.
-In the 28th minute, Elms would respond with a goal of their own. Ramaul Morgan Jr. would be accredited the point, but his shot was generated off a stray deflection from the back of the box. The ball struck off a Dean defender, eventually hitting Morgan's heel and finding the right corner of the goal. Despite the unusual circumstance, Elms tied the match at 1-1.
-Both sides would record three shots each before the end of the half, but the score remained the same at 1-1. Dean shots included efforts from Pordage, Chris Tunley (Las Vegas, NV), and Seamus Doherty (Chelmsford, MA).
-Dean would get the opening opportunities on offense to start the second, but Elms would ultimately break the tie. In the 54th minute, Dru Fairthorne snuck one in, assisted by Morgan Jr. Elms now led 2-1.
-Just over a minute later, the Bulldogs tied the match again. Henderson would score and extend his goal streak to three goals. Tyler would get the assist, scoring his fifth point in two games.
-The match would continue its physical nature through the final minutes, with two yellow cards and multiple warnings being issued. However, in the 79th minute, the Bulldogs would find their game-winning goal. Pordage would just barely sneak one in off a corner kick assist from Blake Dallara (Kennebunk, ME). Dean would take the lead 3-2 and hold on in the final 11 minutes for the victory.
