Men's Soccer Inches Closer to Postseason with Conference Victory Over Regis, 3-1

5Weston, MA- The Dean College Men's Soccer team inched closer to a postseason birth with their 3-1 conference victory over Regis College on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Bulldogs now move to 6-6-2 (5-3-0 GNAC), while the Pride drop to 4-8-1 (4-3-0 GNAC).

How it Happened:
-The Bulldogs would open with an aggressive strategy, grabbing three quick shots. Two of those shots were from forward Ethan Henderson (Hartlepool, England). 
-In the 17th minute, the Bulldogs would be the ones to strike first. Sophomore Clay Tyler (Attleboro, MA) would find the back of the net off an assist from Blake Dallara (Kennebunk, ME). Dean now had the early 1-0 lead.
-However, just about thirty seconds later, Regis would tie the match at one. Callum Park recorded the unassisted goal for the Pride. 
-Dean would make a small flurry of substitutions, keeping the Pride off their balance. This then prompted freshman James Jennings (Sharon, MA) to score his first career goal, giving Dean the 2-1 lead. The goal for Jennings would be unassisted.
-Regis would go on the attack towards the end of the first half, but Dean maintained their 2-1 lead at the end of the half.
-The second half would continue the chess-like nature. Both sides went back and forth with shots and substitutions. Goalkeeper Jake Godwin (Norwalk, CT) would keep Dean's lead alive, forcing Regis to shoot around the goal. 
-In the 76ht minute, Dean would add their much-needed insure. Ayomide Talabi (Hamilton, NJ) would break his scoreless streak and give Dean the 3-1 lead. 
-Two yellow cards would be assessed to Dean in the second half: One to Dallara and the other to John Pordage (Wayland, MA).
-The Bulldogs would onto their 3-1 lead and win the match in full-time.
