Longmeadow, MA- The Dean College Women's Volleyball team was taken down by Bat Path University on Friday night by a final score of 0-3. With the loss, Dean drops to 2-16 (0-9 GNAC), wile Bay Path improves to 10-7 overall.
How it Happened:
-Bay Path would try and take early control of the match, but Dean rallied to keep it close. First-year
Mia Cote (Hopedale, MA) would strike on a call, followed by a service ace of her own.
-Shortly after Cote, Both
Maddy Seymour (Simsbury, CT) and
Emma Siniscalchi (Huntington, NY) would each secure kills, making it 10-9 in favor of Dean.
-However, Bay Path would claw their way back into the set, taking it by a final score of 25-20. They now led in the match 1-0.
-Bay Path would control the pace of play in set two, winning by a score of 25-17. Dean saw strong points from Seymour,
Caitlin Cooper (Amherst, NH), and
Katie Jones (Franklin, MA).
-The Wildcats would take early control of set number three, but Dean would fight back halfway through. The bulldogs would eventually go on a 5-0 run, seeing service aces from Siniscalchi and another kill from Jones.
-Despite this bringing them within four, Bay Path would climb back into the driver's seat and win the third set. The 25-18 final score allowed them to win the match three sets to none.
