North Adams, MA- The Dean College Women's Soccer team rallied for a 1-1 draw in non-conference plat Sunday afternoon against the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. With the Draw, Dean improves to 2-11-2 on the season, while MCLA moves to 3-6-7.
How it Happened:
-The Bulldogs would open the match with a hurried attack. Their offense posted five different shots in the first nine minutes, four of which were saved by MCLA's keeper.
-However, in the fourteenth minute, Dean broke through. Senior
Miro McIntyre Clere (Sydney, Australia) would score her second career goal, assisted by
Kacie Consolini (Stafford Springs, CT). Dean held the early 1-0 advantage.
-Dean went on to record six more shots in the first half, keeping the pressure on the Trail Blazers. MLCA would have six total shots in the first 45 minutes, including three in the final 15. Dean would lead the Trail Blazers 1-0 at the break.
-MCLA would open with pressure in the second half. Their offense solidified an opening corner kick, followed by two consecutive shots on keeper
Lexi Gerow (Pownal, VT). The Bulldogs were able to stand tall and defend both, keeping their one-goal advantage.
-Shortly after, Consolini would drive the other way and record two shots of her own. She would also initiate a Dean corner kick, eventually being saved.
-The match would go back-and-forth through the final moments. However, it would be MCLA scoring in the final three minutes to tie it at one. Kylie DeMaio scored her sixth of the season, eventually sealing the 1-1 draw.
