Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer: Consolini Scores in Senior Day Battle with Monks, 1-4

Franklin, MA- The Dean College Women's Soccer team fought a strong battle against Saint Joseph's College of Maine, but ultimately fell short by a final score of 1-4. With the loss, Dean drops to 2-10-1 (1-7-1 GNAC), while the Monks improve to 7-5-0 (6-3-0 GNAC).

Prior to the match, the Dean College Department of Athletics & Recreation recognized the four seniors graduating from the Women's Soccer roster: Lexi Gerow (Pownal, VT), Miro McIntyre Clere (Sydney, Australia), Emmalynn Schnitzer (Eastham, MA), and Lila Maiato (Coventry, RI).

How it Happened:
-After opening ceremonies, the Monks would open the scoring in the fourteenth minute. Elise Perron, assisted by Sydney Gallop, would float one past Gerow inside of the box. Saint Joseph's would lead early 1-0.
-However, the Bulldogs would tie the game nearly six minutes later. Junior Kacie Consolini (Stafford Springs, CT) shot a rocket past the keeper, burying the goal and tying the match.
-Less than a minute later, the Monks would regain their lead. Abbey Laney would score, unassisted, to give them a 2-1 advantage.
-The Monks would continue their offensive efforts towards the end of the first half. Brielle Pigott would score this time, giving the Monks a two goal lead going into the break.
-Sydney Gallop would score the final goal for Saint Joseph's. In the 64th minute, should found the back of the net off an assist from Abbey Laney. The Monks now led 4-1.
-Dean would put up a valiant effort to try and tie the match at the end. Both Schnitzer and Consolini would take strong shots at the goal, but both would be saved by the keeper. The Monks would go on to seal the victory by a final score of 4-1.
