Ramos Scores Ten Points in Field Hockey's Win Over Rivier, 8-1

Nashua, NH- The Dean College Field Hockey team dismantled Rivier University on Saturday afternoon with an 8-1 victory. with the win, Dean now improves to 10-6 (6-1 GNAC) on the year, while the Raiders drop to 2-11 (2-6 GNAC).

Noteworthy Marks:
-Senior Sydnee Ramos (New Bedford, MA) became the first player in program history to score ten points in a single game. Ramos scored five different goals and seven shots on-goal, adding to her total.

How it Happened:
-Dean wasted no time getting on the board. Emily Yazzetti (Mahopac, NY) scored the first of the game, unassisted, to give Dean the 1-0 lead.
-Six minutes later, Ramos would score her first of the game. Shea Cassani (Belgrade, ME) picked up the assist. Dean now led 2-0 at the end of the first quarter.
-The Bulldogs would score three times in the second quarter. Ramos would score twice, both unassisted, followed by a goal from Katrina Lee (Brookline, NH). Yazzetti added an assist to Lee's goal. 
-Rivier would net their only goal of the game in this quarter. Reilly Swislosky would score off a penalty corner chance. At the break, Dean led Rivier 5-1.
-Dean's remaining three goals would all come in the third quarter. Yazzetti would open the half's scoring unassisted. This was followed by Ramos' final two goals, both of which were also unassisted. Ramos would have all five goals by the end of the third.
-The fourth quarter would see a total of eight penalty corners, five of which were awarded to Dean. However, after a scoreless fifteen minutes, Dean would seal their victory by a final score of 8-1.
