WESTON, Mass.- In their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup of the season, the Dean College Bulldogs women's basketball team fell to the Regis College Pride 100-72 on Saturday.
Dean trailed 18-12 after the opening quarter. In the second frame, the Bulldogs outpaced the Pride 17-13 to close the gap to two at halftime. Sophomore
Azaria Landry (Fort Gregg-Adams, Va.) led the Bulldogs with seven points in the period. Regis outscored the Bulldogs 32-22 in the third quarter to take a 12 point lead into the final frame. Sophomore
Abi Boutin (Rocky Hill, Conn.) led the Bulldogs in the third quarter with nine points. The hosts caught fire in the final frame, scoring 37 points on 65% shooting to cruise to a 100-72 victory.
Dean was led by Landry who scored a season high 28 points. Boutin finished with 14, while senior
Alexandria Paquet (San Marina, Calif.) recorded a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they host Albertus Magnus in GNAC action at 5:00 p.m. at Pieri Gymnasium.
