Fitchburg, Mass.- The Dean College Bulldogs fell in non-conference action to Fitchburg State on Thursday, 2-0 at Elliot Field. The loss drops Dean to 1-1 on the season, while FItchburg State improves to 2-1.
Fitchburg State started the scoring in the 11th minute when
Justin Job (Worcester, Mass.) scored in the upper left corner to give the Falcons an early edge. The Falcons doubled their lead in the 38th minute when
Anthony Oliveira Dalicandro (Waltham, Mass.) scored, giving the Falcons a 2-0 lead at the halftime break. The Bulldogs threatened in the second half, but could not break through the Fitchburg defense, and the hosts held on for a 2-0 win.
Fitchburg held a 23-6 advantage in shots and a 5-3 lead in corner kicks.
Jake Richard (Townsend, Mass.) led the Bulldogs with two shots.
Jake Godwin (Norwalk, Conn.) played 90 minutes in the goal, making four saves and allowing two goals.
Dean is back in action on Wednesday September 11th, when they travel to Worcester Polytechnic Institute for a 7 p.m. start.
