Franklin, Mass.- After trailing for most of the first set, the visiting UMass Boston women's volleyball team found their stride late and took control of the game, earning a 25-23 win en route to a 3-0 sweep over the Dean College Bulldogs at Pieri Gym on Wednesday night. The battle between the Beacons and the Bulldogs, the first meeting between the two, was a non-league contest. Dean falls to 2-6 on the year, while UMass Boston improves to 7-4.Â
Dean controlled the action throughout the majority of the first stanza, leading by as many as six and maintaining a 20-16 lead late in the frame.
