Bulldogs Defeat Lesley 13-4 on Senior Day

FRANKLIN, Mass. – April 30, 2024 – The Dean College baseball team defeated Lesley 13-4 on senior day at the Longley Athletic Complex Tuesday afternoon.

Prior to the game, Dean honored seniors Seth Cruz (East Freetown, Mass.), Matt Hallinan (Stamford, Conn.), Ryan Inzitari (Norwalk, Conn.) and Kyle Lancaster (Dartmouth, Mass.) for their years of hard work and dedication to Dean College and the baseball program.

Dean (12-22) will conclude the regular season tomorrow at Springfield College. Lesley (22-13) plays a weekend series at VTSU Lyndon.  

Lancaster led the Dean hitters with a 3-for-5 effort at the plate. He also scored three times, drove in two and stole a base. Cruz went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a stolen base. First-year Rylan Secovich (Southwick, Mass.) also went 3-for-5 with a couple of RBIs.

Lesley began the game with a run in the first and a run in the second before Dean got on the board with a Colin Favata (Syosset, N.Y.) RBI single in the bottom half of the second.

The Bulldogs then opened things up in the third with six runs. Cruz knocked in a pair with a single to right.

Dean went in front by an 11-2 margin with four runs in the fourth. Lancaster and sophomore Jacob Paschetto (East Longmeadow, Mass.) each had RBI singles in the inning.

Sophomore Jake Samela (West Hartford, Conn.) brought in two for the Lynx with a ground-rule double to left in the sixth inning to trim the Dean lead to 11-4.

The Bulldogs got both runs back in the eighth inning with a 2-run single by Cruz.

Sophomore Domenic Brazeau (Warwick, R.I.) earned the win with seven innings pitched, three earned runs and seven strikeouts. Hallinan started the game and went one inning with one earned run allowed.
