Bulldogs Win Third Straight with 11-9 Victory at Curry

FRANKLIN, Mass.– April 25, 2024 – The Dean College baseball erased a 6-2 and an 8-7 deficit to earn an 11-9 comeback win at Curry on Thursday.

Earlier this month, the Bulldogs defeated the Colonels 13-4 at the Longley Athletic Complex.

The Bulldogs (11-22), who have won seven of the last 11 games and three in a row, will host Lesley on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. to celebrate senior day. Curry drops to 5-25.

Sophomore Nick Amendolara (Bayville, N.Y.) went 3-for-4 with five RBIs to lead Dean. Junior Joey Bossinas (Ossining, N.Y.) drove in a pair, while sophomore Jacob Paschetto (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and senior Seth Cruz (East Freetown, Mass.) each finished with two hits.

First-year Dylan Altermatt (North Branford, Conn.) earned his second victory of the season after 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Sophomore Kiefer Culligan (South Windsor, Conn.) picked up a save by pitching the final two frames.
Amendolara opened the scoring in the first with a 2-run double to the gap.

Curry got a run back in its first at-bat on an RBI single from Tommy Marshall.

The Colonels then plated five runs on five hits and two errors in the third for a 6-2 advantage. Kyle Doolin drove in a pair with a double to right.

Dean answered right away in the top of the fourth with five runs to take a 7-6 lead. Bossinas knocked in two with a single.

After the home team took an 8-7 lead with two runs in the sixth, Dean scored four times in the eighth for an 11-8 margin. Amendolara drove in two runs on a hit for the second time in the game.

Curry trimmed the deficit to 11-9 with a run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth, but went quietly in the ninth.
