STANDISH, Maine – April 2, 2024 – The Dean College baseball team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road game to Saint Joseph's (ME), 6-2, Tuesday afternoon.
Dean goes to 3-11 overall and 0-5 in the conference. Saint Joseph's improves to 4-12 overall and 1-2 in the GNAC.
After a scoreless first inning, Dean struck for a run in the top of the second when first-year
Nathan Suncar (Boston, Mass.) belted his fourth home run of the season.
The Monks answered with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 2-1 lead.
Saint Joseph's then scored three times in the fourth with the big hit coming from Luke Doughty who singled home a pair.
In the top of the fifth, the Bulldogs plated a run when first-year
Owen Critchley (Dayton, Maine) hit a sac fly to left to bring home sophomore
Tyler Giambra (Prospect, Conn.) who reached on a walk and stole a base.
The home team added an insurance run in the eighth to make the score 6-2.

Jacob Koble (Narragansett, R.I.) tossed four innings of relief for the Bulldogs. He gave up one run on three hits.
