FRANKLIN, Mass.– April 14, 2024 – The Dean College baseball team earned a 13-4 non-conference victory over Curry College on Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (5-18) are scheduled to travel to Norwich on Tuesday. Curry (3-17) hosts a conference doubleheader against Western New England tomorrow afternoon.
Dean finished the game with 10 hits and took advantage of 10 walks and four hit by pitches. The Bulldogs scored runs in six of their eight innings, including four in the second and sixth.
Junior
Joey Bossinas (Ossining, N.Y.) knocked in four runs on two hits to lead the Bulldogs. Senior
Seth Cruz (East Freetown, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a couple of walks. Sophomore
Gavin Goss (Glenwood Landing, N.Y.) also had a pair of knocks. Junior
Marcus Baker (Franklin, Mass.) scored a team-high three runs. Sophomore
Colin Favata (Syosset, N.Y.) scored twice and brought home a pair.
Erik Leonard went 3-for-4 to lead the Colonels. George Calderon knocked in three of Curry's four runs on a pair of hits.
First-year
Jeremey Vitiello (Woonsocket, R.I.) and first-year
Kieran Karson (Raynham, Mass.) each tossed an inning of scoreless relief with a strikeout.
Sophomore
Conner Coleman (Portland, Maine) was credited with the victory after two scoreless innings.
