FRANKLIN, Mass. – April 1, 2024 – The Dean College baseball team was topped by Nichols, 27-0, in eight innings Monday afternoon at the Longley Athletic Complex.
Dean (3-10) returns to conference action with a 4 p.m. first pitch at Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Tuesday. Nichols (13-5) travels to Brandeis tomorrow for a 3:30 p.m. game.

Owen Critchley (Dayton, Maine) each had two hits to lead Dean.
Nichols struck first in the opening frame when Will Kleinhenz (Madison, Conn.) knocked in Ben Jerome (Waterford, Conn.) with a single to left.
The Bison then plated seven runs in the second for an 8-0 lead. The big hit came when Jerome cleared the bases with a triple down the right field line. Kleinhenz also added an RBI double.
Kleinhenz made another impact in the third with a 2-run homer over the left field fence to give Nichols a 10-0 lead.
After a scoreless fourth inning, Nichols added a pair for a 12-0 advantage. Kleinhenz knocked in a run with his second double of the game.
Senior Johnny Knox (Jefferson, N.J.) gave Nichols a 14-0 lead with a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth.
Knox then brought home three runs in the seventh with his second long ball over the left field fence. Nichols scored seven times in the inning for a 21-0 lead.
The Bison tacked on six runs in the eighth. Brennan Hyde (Tampa, Fla.) had a two-run single to center.
Sophomore Aidan Whitten (Mystic, Conn.) pitched the first four innings. He gave up three hits and struck out five for the Bison.
Kleinhenz finished with six RBIs on five hits. Jerome went 3-for-4 with four runs and three RBIs. Knox was 4-for-5 with five RBIs and three runs.
