PAXTON, Mass.- The Dean College Bulldogs were swept by Anna Maria, 3-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's volleyball action on Wedensday night.
The first game was a tale of runs. Anna Maria jumped out to the lead first, taking a 6-1 advantage in the early going. Dean responded with five straight to tie the game at six. The hosts later balooned their lead to 19-12, before Dean rallied again, scoring six straight to cut it 19-18. Anna Maria held on to 25-19. In the second set, back and forth action ensued throughout. Evneutally, however, the Bulldogs fell 25-23. The final set was controlled by the hosts, cruising to a 25-19 victory.
Kaesta Sandy (Everett, Mass.) led the Bulldogs with three kills and two blocks. Senior
Emily Larouche (Plymouth, Mass.) added three kills and eight digs. Senior
Emily Terrien (Lynn, Mass.) pitched in five digs, while seniors
Anabella Driscoll (Plymouth, Mass.) and
Rae Edwards (Westfield, Mass.) both recorded nine assists.
Dean is back in action tomorrow night when they host Framingham State for senior night at 7 p.m.
