FRANKLIN, Mass.- The Dean College Bulldogs responded on the second day of back-to-back games, defeating Framingham State 3-1 on Senior Day at Pieri Gym in front of a packed crowd on Thursday night.
In an improbable first set, the Bulldogs never led until the final two points. Dean fell behind early 7-3 and 15-10. Five straight points tied the game at 15, but Framingham took the lead back, controlling play until the closing moments, when Dean scored the last three points, capped by a
Chloe Demaio (Needham, Mass.) block on the final point, to take the set.
Framingham bounced back in the second set, getting out to 16-10 lead and rolling down the stretch for a 25-19 win to knot the match at one. Dean dominated the third set, taking a 2-1 lead, with an early run that provided a 12-5 advantage. FSU never recovered and the Bulldogs put the game away late with a kill by junior

Dean took an 8-4 lead in the fourth set, but the Rams scored three straight to close to 8-7. Dean responded, scoring four of their own to extend the lead to 12-7. The Bulldogs broke open their lead to 18-12, and later 20-14, and 24-18, ceding a few points at the end before securing the match on a kill from first-year

Janai Price (Providence, R.I.) led the Bulldogs with 11 kills and 17 digs. Seymour and
Emily Ball (Feeding Hills, Mass.) both added ten kills. while Seymour contributed 18 digs. Cooper finished with eight kills and four blocks, while Demaio added four blocks as well, in addition to two kills. Senior
Anabella Driscoll (Plymouth, Mass.) recorded 37 assists, while junior
Skylar Raskevitz (Easthampton, Mass.) notched a team-high 24 digs.
Dean (11-14)Â is back in action on Saturday, when they travel to Emmanuel for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match with USJ and the Saints at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.Â
