Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Rolls To 6-0, Knocks Off Carlow (Pa.) 77-69

FRANKLIN, Mass- The Dean College Bulldogs will remain undefeated after rallying in the second half of Sunday's non-conference matchup against the Carlow University Celtics. Entering halftime down by ten points, Dean opened the second half with an offensive attack, quickly re-tying the game in the first four minutes. The Bulldogs went on to outscore the Celtics 47-29 in the second half.

The offense, which was stagnant throughout the first half, began to pick up momentum after a series of Greg Farrow (Milwaukee, Wis.) three-pointers. Frankie Idlett (Miami, Fla.) took control of the game in the final five minutes, with two critical layups to extend the lead. After being held without a point in the first half, Idlett finished with 11 points and 6 assists.

Christian Yeates (Atlanta, Ga.) was Dean's scoring leader, totaling 17 points and adding 8 rebounds. Billy Ray Barnes III (Carson, Calif.) added 16 points of his own, shooting seven of ten from the field on 39 minutes played.

The Bulldogs found themselves down by as many as 15 points, as Carlow extended their lead with 1:40 left on the clock in the first half. From that point, Dean turned around the pace. The Bulldogs reached their largest lead 13 minutes of game action later, at 12 points.

Following a 40% field goal percentage in the first half, Dean went 13 of 25 on field goal attempts in the second, for 52%. The Bulldogs game total finished at 45.5%, including a 35% 3-Pt. FG. Carlow, who was at 47.1% FG attempts in the first, went 8 of 25 in the second, finishing at 40.7% total.

Dean continues to rack up non-conference victories on their way to an undefeated start. Standing at 6-0, the Bulldogs are only one of two teams who remain undefeated in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), with four games remaining before GNAC play begins in January 2025. Men's basketball's next home game is slated for Tuesday night in Pieri Gymnasium against the University of New England. Tip-Off is listed as 5:00 PM, following the conclusion of the women's basketball game which begins at 3:00 PM.
