Northfield, Vt.- The Dean College Bulldogs women's volleyball team split a doubleheader in Vermont on Saturday, falling 3-0 to Lasell University in the opener, before defeating the hosts, Norwich University, 3-0 in the second game. With the split, Dean is now 10-13, and 6-6 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).
Lasell 3, Dean 0
Lasell outshot the Bulldogs in the opening match, defeating Dean 25-9, 25-17, and 25-14. Dean fell behind early in the opening set, trailing 16-5 and never found their footing in the lopsided loss.
The Bulldogs battled in the second set, trading points in the ealy going and tying the set at 7 on a
Sophie Malone (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) service ace. Lasell took five straight points from there to open up a lead, but the Bulldogs rallied back, tying the game again, this time at 14-all. Lasell scored the next seven points to take a 21-14 lead and closed out the set down the stretch for the 2-0 set lead.

In the final game, the Lasers jumped out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 25-14 victory and a 3-0 match win.Â
Dean's top performer was junior libero
Skylar Raskevitz (Easthampton, Mass.), who finished with a team-high 13 digs, passing 1000 digs for her career. Raskevitz currently leads the Bulldogs with 295 digs, good for 11th best in the conference.Â

In the nightcap, Dean took a 3-0 win despite all three games coming down to the final moments. The Bulldogs won the opening game 25-18 and the next two both 25-21. Dean was led by a balanced attack with multiple players recording numerous kills and blocks.
Sophomore
Chloe Demaio (Needham, Mass.) registered four kills and a block, while
Lauren Joy (Amherst, Mass.) contributed four kills and a block assist.
Olivia Mackinnon (Plymouth, Mass.) added four kills, while first-year
Kaesta Sandy (Everett, Mass.) pitched in two kills and five blocks (three solo).Â
Raskevitz recorded a game-high 24 digs while setter
Emma Siniscalchi (Huntington, N.Y.) had 14 assists.Â
Dean is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Anna Maria for a 6 p.m. GNAC matchuip with the AmCats.Â
