Football Bested by AmCats in Regular Season Finale

PAXTON, Mass.- The Dean College Bulldogs football team closed out the regular season with a 63-0 loss to Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) foe Anna Maria on Saturday.

The AmCats wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, scoring on their first possession, two minutes into the game, on a ten yard touchdown run by Nico Cavaliere. After a few possessions without points for both squads, Anna Maria struck again late in the quarter when quarterback Ryan Russell found Davien Atkinson for a 41 yard touchdown strike. Minutes later, the same duo connected again, this time for a 21 yard score, and the hosts entered the end of the first quarter with a 21-0 lead.

Anna Maria scored three more touchdowns in the second quarter, one from Treshawn Blair on a four yard rush, and two from Russell (one rushing and one passing).  The rushing TD was a four yard run that capped a six play, 58 yard drive to give the AmCats a 36--0 lead. The passing score was a 22 yard toss to Kevin Acosta to put the hosts up 43-0 with three minutes to play in the half.  Anna Maria added on three more touchdowns in the second half,  one on a 17 yard punt return by Brendan Arroyo, one on a 49 yard fumble recovery by Elie Charles, and the final on an Alan Bailey five yard run.

Dean was led by Brayden Prasse (San Antonio, Texas.) who finished with 66 yards on 18 carries. Kai Reeves (Boston, Mass.) led the Bulldogs with seven tackles. First-year Elijah Walker (Upper Marlboro, Md.) and Christian Donalson (Albany, Ga.) each had four tackles, with Donalson adding two fackles for loss and Walker pitching in one. Bulldog quarterback Amari Harris (New Bedford, Mass.) finished 6-12 passing for 42 yards.

The Bulldogs finish the regular season 0-7 (0-3 ECFC) and will return to action on November 16th for the ECFC playoffs.
