WESTON, Mass.- Junior
Sydnee Ramos (New Bedford, Mass.) scored the game winning goal in overtime, powering the Bulldogs past Regis College, 2-1 in a massive Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win on Saturday.
After a scoreless first half, both teams came to life in the third quarter. Regis scored first, ten minutes into the third quarter, when
Izzy Cochrane buried her third goal of the season off an assist from
Frankie Alley.  Two minutes later, the Bulldogs countered. First-year
Emma Gragen (Brattleboro, Vt.) scored her fourth goal of the season, assisted by Ramos, tying the game at one late in the third period.
In the fourth, both teams were scoreless, but not for a lack of chances. Regis had six fourth quarter shots to Dean five, and the Pride put four of their offerings on goal, only to be turned aside by stellar goalkeeping by first-year
Sara Gardner (Hampstead, Md.).
Dean broke through to seal the game two minutes into the overtime period. Off a penalty corner, first-year
Emily Yazzetti (Mahopac, N.Y.) fired a shot that was blocked. Ramos found the ball in the middle of the field and finished it past the Regis keeper for the game-winner, sending the Bulldogs into celebration.
Ramos finished with one goal and one assist. Gragen had a goal and Yazzetti had an assist. Garder made nine saves in the goal.
Dean (7-7 overall, 4-4 GNAC) picked up a critical win in the GNAC standings as the teams jockey for playoff positioning. Up next for the Bulldogs is a non-conference tilt with Springfield College at 6:00 p.m. in Springfield, Mass.Â
