PAXTON, Mass. – January 24, 2024 – The Dean College women's basketball team dropped a 76-44 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) decision at Anna Maria on Wednesday night.
Dean (2-16, 0-8 GNAC) hosts Emmanuel on Saturday at 1 p.m. Anna Maria (8-9, 3-5 GNAC) hosts Saint Joseph's (Maine) at noon on Saturday.
Junior
Tori Viau (Johnston, R.I.) scored 20 points to lead the Bulldogs. Senior
Cat Thomas (Woodbridge, Conn.) finished with five points and a game-high 10 rebounds. First-year
Kendrah Doane (New Salem, Mass.) tallied seven rebounds and six assists.
Marinique Reddin led all players with 22 points on 10-of-17 shooting. She added eight rebounds and six steals. Arianna Saladini added 13 points.
1st Quarter
- Anna Maria had an 18-14 lead after 10 minutes.
- Each team made three three-pointers with Dean going 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.
- Each team also had 11 rebounds.
- Viau led all player with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting.
- Arianna Gonzalez scored all nine of her game points in the quarter for the AMCATS.
2nd Quarter
- The AMCATS pulled away in the second with a 19-5 margin in points for a 37-19 lead at the half.
- Reddin scored nine points for Anna Maria.
- The home team shot 44.4% and held Dean to 18.2%.
3rd Quarter
- Anna Maria pushed its lead to 63-27 thanks to 50% shooting (11-22).
- Reddin added eight points to her total.
- Four Bulldogs found the scoring column in the third.
4th Quarter
- Dean outscored Anna Maria 17-13 in the final frame.
- The Bulldogs shot 46.2% and held the home team to 27.8%.
- Viau added six points to her game total. She also had a couple of assists, a steal and a rebound in the fourth.
