NORTHFIELD, Vt. – January 20, 2024 – The Dean College women's basketball team was defeated by Norwich, 103-32, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action Saturday afternoon.
Dean (2-15, 0-7 GNAC) travels to Anna Maria on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tip. Norwich (7-9, 1-5 GNAC) will host Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday.
First-year
Abi Boutin (Rocky Hill, Conn.) had 11 points to pace Dean. First-year
Kendrah Doane (New Salem, Mass.) also reached double figures with 10 points.
Haley Brewster made seven three-pointers to finish with a game best 35 points for the Cadets.
1st Quarter
- Brewster scored 16 points in the first quarter to help Norwich to a 31-7 lead.
- Doane had six of Dean's seven points.
- Norwich shot 50% from the floor and made 7-of-12 from beyond the arc.
2nd Quarter
- Boutin and Doane combined for nine points for the Bulldogs in the second frame.
- The Cadets kept the efficient shooting going with 50% again from the field and four more long balls.
3rd Quarter
- Junior Tori Viau (Johnston, R.I.) registered five points to lead the Dean scorers in the third.
- Norwich outscored Dean 23-11 in the stanza.
- Five of the Cadets' nine baskets were from beyond the arc.
4th Quarter
- The Cadets used a balanced scoring attack in the fourth en route to the victory.
