FRANKLIN, Mass. – September 20, 2023 – The Dean College women's soccer team was defeated by Emmanuel, 6-1, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (3-3-1, 2-2-1 GNAC) play at New England College on Saturday at 1 p.m. Emmanuel (5-1, 4-0 GNAC) begins a three game road trip on Saturday with a noon game at Simmons.

Junior Lisette Ayala (Chicopee, Mass.) put the Bulldogs in front with an early goal capitalizing on an Emmanuel misplay.

The Saints responded with five goals in the remaining 39 minutes of the half. Liz McCormick (Cumberland, R.I.), Maya Daryanani (Raynham, Mass.), Rachel Harrington (Lebanon, N.H.), Annebel Balogh de Galantha (Grafton, Mass.) and Kaelyn Briscoe (Walpole, Mass.) each found the scoresheet for Emmanuel.

First-year Ciara Horan (Braintree, Mass.) added to the Emmanuel lead with a goal in the 78th minute to account for the 6-1 victory.

Junior goalie Haley Gaunt (Johnston, R.I.) made 11 saves and allowed five goals in 66 minutes of action for the Bulldogs. Sophomore Lexi Gerow (Pownal, Vt.) played the final 34 minutes and allowed one goal with four saves. Emmanuel keeper Gaby Baker (Grafton, Mass.) allowed one goal and made two saves to earn the win.
