NORTHFIELD, Vt. – September 19, 2023 – The Dean College men's soccer team earned an important 1-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road win at Norwich Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs picked up their first win against Norwich in three all-time meetings.

Dean (4-2-1, 2-2-1 GNAC) returns home on Saturday to host Rivier at 3 p.m. Norwich (0-2-4, 0-1-3 GNAC) welcomes Anna Maria to Sabine Field on Friday at 7 p.m.

Dean recorded the lone goal of the contest in the 13th minute. Senior Sean Doherty (Chelmsford, Mass.) took a corner kick and sent the ball to the far edge of the 6-yard box. Senior Bryce King (Athol, Mass.) jumped and headed the ball into the back of the net after deflecting off a defender.

Senior goalie Alberto Gonzalez Del Rio (Madrid, Spain) improved to 3-0 in net with his second shutout of the season. He had five saves for the Bulldogs. Nicolas Lanza finished with two saves for the Cadets.

Norwich held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks and a 5-3 margin in shots on target.
