FRANKLIN, Mass. – September 17, 2023 – The Dean College field hockey team dropped a 2-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game to New England College at Grant Field on Sunday afternoon.   

Dean (0-7, 0-3 GNAC) hits the road on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. GNAC game at Elms. NEC (3-3, 3-1 GNAC) travels to Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

The Pilgrims scored late in the first quarter on Drea Chin's (Laconia, N.H.) second goal of the season.

After an evenly played second quarter, NEC doubled its lead early in the third on a nice connection between Chin and junior Meaghan McCamish (Warwick, R.I.). Chin passed the ball in the air to the left side of the cage where McCamish knocked it in from waist high into the back of the goal.

Senior goalie Mackenzie Fillion (New Bedford, Mass.) made nine saves, while junior Madison Gilbert (Sanbornton, N.H.) picked up her team leading third defensive save of the season. NEC goalie Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.) earned the win for the Pilgrims.
