FRANKLIN, Mass. – September 16, 2023 – The Dean College men's soccer team came away with a 1-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over Elms College on Saturday afternoon.

Dean (3-2-1, 1-2-1 GNAC) travels to Norwich on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match with the Cadets. Elms (1-5, 1-3 GNAC) will host Lasell on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

In an evenly played match, the Bulldogs struck for the lone goal of the contest in the 67th minute. Senior Reinorf Kusi (Malden, Mass.) sent a through ball past several Elms defenders leading to a breakaway for sophomore Jake Richard (Townsend, Mass.). Richard dribbled into the right side of the box and beat the keeper with his first goal of the season.

Elms had a late chance to find the equalizer but Dean senior goalie Alberto Gonzalez Del Rio (Madrid, Spain) was up to the task to keep the clean sheet intact. Gonzalez Del Rio finished with five saves.

Keeper Collin Liedke (Newington, Conn.) kept the Blazers in the game with six saves.

Dean held a 14-13 edge in shots and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
