FRANKLIN, Mass. – April 6, 2023 – The Dean College men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match to Colby-Sawyer on senior night Thursday evening. The Chargers won by scores of 23-25, 29-27, 25-20 and 25-22.

Nick Carlson (Warwick, R.I.),
Nick Giglietti (East Haven, Conn.) and
Tyler Martins (East Providence, R.I.) for their years of hard work and dedication to Dean College and the men's volleyball program.
The Bulldogs will conclude the season on Saturday with a tri-match hosted by Colby-Sawyer that includes Regis.
Martins led the Bulldogs with 14 kills and 14 digs. He also had one ace to become the program's all-time leader with 56. Carlson added eight kills, 10 digs and four aces. Giglietti finished with four digs and a kill. First-year
Arthur Felicio (Brazil) contributed four kills and three blocks. First-year
Hunter Armitage (Westerly, R.I.) recorded a season best 29 assists.
Colby-Sawyer (4-20, 1-13 GNAC) was led by sophomore Isaac Davies (Hinesburg, Vt.). He finished with 29 kills and 18 digs. Junior Austin Ponsness (Queen Creek, Ariz.) posted 13 kills and 15 assists. First-year CJ Murphy (Sudbury, Mass.) ran the offense with 43 assists.
The Chargers took a 6-1 lead in the first set. Dean answered to take a 9-8 lead. Martins recorded his 56th career ace to give the Bulldogs a 15-13 advantage. Dean was able to hang on for the first set victory behind .367 hitting with six players recording at least one kill. Davies had eight kills for Colby-Sawyer.
The second set was tightly contested and featured 15 ties. The Chargers were able to come away with the 29-27 victory. Felicio had four kills for Dean, while Davies added six more for Colby-Sawyer.
The Chargers took a 2-1 lead in the match behind seven more kills from Davies, while Dean posted seven attack errors in the set. Colby-Sawyer came away with the 25-20 win. Dean had five aces and Colby-Sawyer had four in the frame.
The visitors clinched the match by holding on for a 25-22 victory in the fourth set. Martins had six kills to lead Dean, but Davies added eight to his total for the Chargers.
