Women's Lacrosse Celebrates Senior Day with 23-7 Win over Albertus Magnus

FRANKLIN, Mass. – April 15, 2023 – The Dean College women's lacrosse team celebrated senior day with a 23-7 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over Albertus Magnus at Grant Field Saturday afternoon.

Prior to the game, seniors Allie Bezio (Wellfleet, Mass.), Maire Brown (Huntington, N.Y.), Sierra Cardenas (Warwick, R.I.) and Jazzy Sztyler-Magee (Burlington, Conn.) were honored for their years of hard work and dedication to the Dean women's lacrosse program.

Dean (6-7, 5-5 GNAC) returns to action on Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. home game against Johnson & Wales.

Sztyler-Magee eclipsed 100 career points with a game best 12 on five goals and seven assists to lead the Bulldogs. Sophomore Haley Gaunt (Johnston, R.I.) scored six times, while Brown finished with five goals and an assist. Sophomore Natalie Peterson (Hudson, Mass.) recorded a hat trick and a game high 12 draw controls.

Albertus Magnus (0-13, 0-10 GNAC) was led by junior Alexandra Barrett (Northford, Conn.). She had five points on two goals and three assists. Seniors Amanda McGeehan (Milford, Conn.) and Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) each added two goals and an assist.

First-year goalie Allie Stockwell (Burrillville, R.I.) had 10 saves to earn the win for Dean. Senior Kelly Musante (Wallingford, Conn.) made 14 stops for the Falcons.

The Bulldogs got off to a hot start with four goals in the opening 2:04 of the game. Albertus scored three of the next five goals to cut the lead to 6-3. Gaunt then answered with a pair of goals for Dean before McGeehan had the final tally of the first to make the score 8-4 in favor of the Bulldogs.

Dean outscored the Falcons 8-0 in the second quarter to take a commanding 16-4 lead at the half. Sztyler-Magee and Brown each scored three times, while Peterson added a couple.

The Bulldogs began the third quarter on a 3-1 run to push the advantage to 19-5. Riccio notched a goal for the Falcons in the waning moments of the frame to make the margin 13.

After Barrett began the scoring for the Falcons in the fourth, Dean would tally the final four goals of the contest for the comfortable 23-7 victory.
