PURCHASE, N.Y. – March 7, 2023 – The Dean College men's lacrosse team turned in a solid performance at both ends of the field to come away with a 10-1 victory at Purchase College under the lights on a chilly Tuesday evening.
Tonight's game between the Bulldogs and Panthers was the first ever meeting.
Dean (3-0) will have a lengthy break before returning home to host a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener against Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday, March 18 at 1 p.m. Purchase (1-2) travels to the University of Saint Joseph this Saturday for a noon start against the Blue Jays.   
Senior 
Christopher Wendt (Boonton, N.J.) led Dean with a hat trick. Sophomore 
Jason Richard (Holden, Mass.) scored twice, while junior 
Alec Speirs (Old Lyme, Conn.) tallied one goal and three assists. Junior 
Tyler Benedetto (Jupiter, Fla.) won 10-of-14 faceoffs and had a game-high eight ground balls.

James Rollins (Old Lyme, Conn.) earned the victory by stopping 15 of the 16 shots on goal by Purchase. Sophomore Will Boes (Pleasantville, N.Y.) finished with 12 saves for the Panthers.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring just over a minute into the contest with 
Jason Richard's first tally of the game. Dean added two more goals in the quarter from Wendt and sophomore 
Owen Brine (Lebanon, N.H.).
The visitors then sandwiched a couple of goals around Purchase's lone score of the game in the second quarter to lead 5-1 at the half.
Dean pushed the margin to 8-1 in the third and added two more scores in the final quarter to secure the 10-1 road victory.
