Bulldogs Split Tri-Match

FRANKLIN, Mass. – March 18, 2023 – The Dean College men's volleyball team split a pair of matches at home on Saturday with North Park and Fisher. After falling to North Park 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-11), the Bulldogs rebounded for a 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-14) sweep of Fisher.  

Dean (3-9) resumes Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. contest at Emmanuel. North Park improved to 11-11 after two wins today, while Fisher dropped to 0-11.  

North Park 3, Dean 0 – 25-10, 25-17, 25-11

The Vikings hit .431 as a team and finished with 37 kills in the victory. North Park was paced by a 9-kill effort from Pablo Ocasio (Orlando, Fla.) in which he hit .900. Noah Salazar (Minneapolis, Minn.) tallied six kills, while Vicente Cabrera (Santiago, Chile) and Bobby Vaughn (Chicago, Ill.) chipped in with five kills apiece.

Junior Aaron Fonseca (Cranston, R.I.) led Dean with four kills on .333 hitting. Sophomore Nunu Jackson (Fresno, Calif.) hit .375 for three kills, while Saski Sayue (Providence, R.I.) also finished with three kills.

Dean 3, Fisher 0 – 25-21, 25-12, 25-14

Dean posted 32 total kills with double digits in each of the three sets. The team also had 10 aces to help secure the match victory.

First-year Arthur Felicio (Brazil) hit .385 for six kills and three aces. Senior Nick Carlson (Warwick, R.I.) also had six kills to go with 10 digs. First-year Hunter Armitage (Westerly, R.I.) registered 23 assists, three kills and three aces. Senior Tyler Martins (East Providence, R.I.) led all players with 11 digs to go with five kills and five assists. Fonseca added five kills to his daily total on .571 hitting.

Fisher received five kills each from Ethan Marshall (Melbourne, Australia) and Gustavo Cruz (Humacao, P.R.).
