PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - March 10, 2023 - The Dean College baseball team wrapped up its spring break trip in Florida with a 14-6 loss to Lebanon Valley College on Friday afternoon.
Dean (1-6) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second on a two-run double from first-year
Tyler Giambra (Prospect, Conn.).
LVC (3-6-1) took a 3-2 lead in their half of the second on a fielder's choice and a two-run double.
The Bulldogs quickly answered to regain the lead in the third by scoring two more times. Senior
Brayden McLaughlin (Forest Grove, Ore.) brought in a run with a double and senior
Owen Liscio (Norwalk, Conn.) knocked in the team's fourth run with a sac fly.
The Dutchmen responded with six runs on four hits in the bottom of the third to take a 9-4 lead which they would not relinquish.
LVC added to the advantage with a run in the fifth and three in the sixth to go in front by a 13-4 margin.
Dean got a couple back in the seventh on a pair of RBI doubles from senior
Brian Dovidio (Ramsey, N.J.) and McLaughlin.
The Dutchmen tacked on a run in the eighth to secure the 14-6 victory.
McLaughlin and Dovidio each finished with two hits.
