FRANKLIN, Mass. – December 2, 2023 – The Dean College women's basketball team was defeated by Regis, 73-31, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener for both teams.
Dean (1-6, 0-1 GNAC) hosts Fisher on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. tip. Regis (2-6, 1-0 GNAC) returns home to host Clark on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Junior
Tori Viau (Johnston, R.I.) scored a team best 15 points for the Bulldogs. First-year
Abi Boutin (Rocky Hill, Conn.) added six points and a couple of steals.
Regis was led by sophomore Jordyn Striggles (Raynham, Mass.) who scored 16 points. Haley Lightbody (Reading, Mass.) also reached double figures with 10 points.
1st Quarter
- Regis led 19-11 after the first. The Pride shot 9-18 from the floor.
- Striggles led all players with nine points.
- Viau scored five for Dean.
- The Pride had a slim 11-10 edge in rebounding.
2nd Quarter
- The Pride scored 19 points again in the second and held Dean to two made field goals for a 38-16 lead at the half.
- Viau had five more points for the Bulldogs.
- Striggles added five points to her total for 14 after two quarters.
3rd Quarter
- The Bulldogs made all six of their free throw attempts.
- Regis received points from six different players.
- The Pride outscored Dean 18-11 to lead 56-27 after three.
- Viau scored five points for the third quarter in a row.
4th Quarter
- The Pride extended the lead with a 17-4 margin on the scoreboard in the final frame.
