WENHAM, Mass. – November 18, 2023 – The Dean College women's basketball team fell to tournament host Gordon College, 80-49, on Saturday afternoon.
Dean (1-4) returns home on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. game against Lesley inside Pieri Gymnasium. Gordon (1-3) continues its homestand on Tuesday with a 5:30 p.m. game against Salem State.
Senior
Cat Thomas (Woodbridge, Conn.) posted 15 points and seven rebounds to lead the Bulldogs. Junior
Tori Viau (Johnston, R.I.) also reached double figures with 12 points. Dean with six points and seven rebounds. First-year
Kendrah Doane (New Salem, Mass.) tied a season-high with 10 points to go with five rebounds.
1st Quarter
- The Scots took a 17-10 lead after 10 minutes.
- Thomas scored six, while Viau had four to account for Dean's points.
- Gordon got points from seven different players.
- Gordon made five buckets in the quarter, with four coming from beyond the arc.
2nd Quarter
- Each team made five baskets in the second quarter. Gordon hit four threes, while Dean made both of its long ball attempts.
- Dean had an 18-16 advantage in scoring in the second.
- Seven different Bulldogs made the scoring column.
- Dean converted 6-of-8 free throw attempts.
3rd Quarter
- The home team pulled away in the third quarter with a 27-9 margin in scoring.
- Doane scored seven of the Bulldogs' points in the frame.
- Gordon shot 68.8% from the floor and made four more three-pointers.
4th Quarter
- The Scots outscored Dean 20-12 in the final quarter.
- Viau scored six, while Thomas contributed four points for the Bulldogs.
