FRANKLIN, Mass. – October 7, 2023 – The Dean College field hockey team fell to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Regis on Saturday 5-1 at Grant Field.
Dean (1-11, 1-7 GNAC) returns to action tomorrow for senior day against UMaine-Farmington at 2 p.m. Regis (3-9, 3-4 GNAC) will host St. Joseph's College (Maine) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Regis got on the board first, two minutes into the opening frame on a goal from Chloe Grande, assisted by Frankie Alley. It was the first of many points on the day for Alley. She scored two unassisted goals in the ensuing ten minutes to give the Pride a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Regis tacked on two more in the second period on goals from Sarah Juskiewicz and Anna Miele-DeFelice (assisted by Alley) to take a 5-0 lead into the half.
A scoreless third quarter that featured numerous Bulldog chances gave the hosts momentum heading into the fourth. Dean broke through for their first goal of the game when
Sydnee Ramos (New Bedford, Mass.) fed
Emily Kilpatrick (Marion, Mass.) for a one-timer goal.
The Bulldogs rally fell short, however, and Regis held on for a 5-1 win.
