FRANKLIN, Mass. - October 8, 2023 - The Dean College Bulldogs field hockey team earned a 3-0 victory over UMaine-Farmington on Sunday as the squad celebrated senior day at Grant Field.
The win improves the Bulldogs to 2-11 on the season, while the loss drops UMaine-Farmington to 1-10.
The first half was a scoreless stalemate until Dean broke through in the closing seconds. Bulldog sophomore 
Sydnee Ramos (New Bedford, Mass.) drilled a shot into the bottom corner with 30 seconds to play in the first half to give Dean the 1-0 lead at the break.
The hosts continued their hot streak at the start of the second half, with senior 
Meredith Landers (Littleton, Mass.) scoring on a rebound, with an assist from 
Emily Kilpatrick (Marion, Mass.) to push the lead to 2-0 in the opening minutes of the third quarter. The goal was the first of Landers' career. 
Dean added some insurance at the end of the third, when Ramos found the back of the net again to give the Bulldogs their third and final goal.
Senior 
Mackenzie Fillion (New Bedford, Mass.)
 made six saves to earn the shutout, the first of her career. 
Before the game, Dean highlighted five seniors for their dedication to the program. Landers and Fillion were honored, in addition to 
Caroline Corley (Medway, Mass.), 
Reagan Dobratz (Plymouth, Mass.), and
 Gabbie Taynor (Newburyport, Mass.).
