FRANKLIN, Mass. – October 3, 2023 – The Dean College men's soccer team won its sixth straight game after defeating Anna Maria 3-1 on Tuesday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Longley Athletic Complex.
The Bulldogs (8-2-1, 6-2-1 GNAC), who sit in a tie for second in the GNAC standings with 19 points, are off until next Wednesday (Oct. 11) when they will host Johnson & Wales at 3:30 p.m. Anna Maria (1-6-1, 1-5-1 GNAC) hosts Rivier on Saturday at noon.
After a scoreless first half, things opened up in the second. Dean senior
Luke Palmer (Windsor Locks, Conn.) got the Bulldogs on the board in the 57th minute when he finished a feed from junior
Bennett Walsh (Springfield, Mass.) for his team leading sixth goal of the season.
The Bulldogs pushed the lead to a pair in the 76th minute on sophomore
Melvin Alves' (Brockton, Mass.) third tally of the season. He was set up nicely by sophomore
Seamus Doherty (Chelmsford, Mass.) on a through ball near midfield.
Less than two minutes later, the Dean lead ballooned to three when sophomore
Chris Tunley (Las Vegas, Nev.) sent a pass across the goal mouth to senior
Juliano Silva (Cumberland, R.I.). Silva one-touched the pass into the back of the net for his first score of the season.
Anna Maria quickly answered with a goal from senior Hezekiah Adeyeye (Woonsocket, R.I.). He notched his team best third goal in the 79th minute.

Alberto Gonzalez Del Rio (Madrid, Spain) improved to 7-0 after making six saves in the match. Anna Maria keeper Valter Santiago (Norwood, Mass.) had five saves in the loss.
