NASHUA, N.H. – October 18, 2023 – The Dean College women's soccer team was downed by Rivier, 4-0, under the lights in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action Wednesday evening.
The Bulldogs (4-9-2, 3-8-2 GNAC) return home on Friday to host Saint Joseph's College of Maine at 3:30 p.m. during homecoming weekend. Rivier (9-4-3, 8-3-2 GNAC) hosts Johnson & Wales on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The first half did not yield any goals. Rivier had a 12-5 (6-4 on goal) advantage in shots and a 5-1 discrepancy in corner kicks.
A little more than three minutes into the second half, the home team broke the scoreless tie with a goal from Jordan Butters. The chance was set up by Emily Lizotte.
Two minutes later, Lizotte doubled the Raiders' lead with a tough angle shot from the left side into the right corner of the net.
The Rivier lead went to 3-0 when Jillian Arigo scored off a free kick from the top of the 18-yard box.
Butters made it 4-0, 18 seconds later, with her second tally of the match.

Haley Gaunt (Johnston, R.I.) made nine saves for the Bulldogs.

Jazzy Sztyler-Magee (Burlington, Conn.) and junior
Nina Medeiros (Fairhaven, Mass.) each had a couple of shots on target for Dean.
