Field Hockey Defeated by Salve Regina

FRANKLIN, Mass. – October 11, 2023 – The Dean College field hockey team dropped a non-conference game to Salve Regina, 7-0, at Grant Field on Wednesday afternoon.

Dean (2-13) resumes conference action next Wednesday with a 5 p.m. game at Simmons. Salve Regina (7-4) plays at Mount Holyoke on Saturday at noon.

Salve Regina scored one goal in the first, three in the second, one in the third and two in the second en route to the victory. Julia Decker led the Seahawks with three goals. Shannon Kennedy scored twice, while Georgia Costello added a goal.

Senior Mackenzie Fillion (New Bedford, Mass.) tied a season high with 22 saves for the Bulldogs. Dean senior Meredith Landers (Littleton, Mass.) picked up her first defensive save of the season. Bryn Protheroe earned the win for Salve Regina with one save in three quarters.
