FRANKLIN, Mass. – January 26, 2023 – The Dean College women's basketball team was defeated by Anna Maria, 83-32, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action Thursday evening.

Dean (0-16, 0-11 GNAC) hosts Lasell on Saturday at 1 p.m. Anna Maria (4-11, 2-7 GNAC) plays a 3 p.m. GNAC game at Emmanuel on Saturday.

Sophomore Cat Thomas (Woodbridge, Conn.) came away with her first double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs. Sophomore Amani Pressley (Long Island, N.Y.) added seven points

Anna Maria junior Chloe Giordano (Goffstown, N.H.) led all players with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Junior Gina Parmenter (Oxford, Mass.) contributed 16 points, nine assists and five steals, while graduate student Julitza Delgado (Southbridge, Mass.) put in 11 points to go with five steals and four assists. Sophomore Marinique Reddin (Tampa, Fla.) was the fourth AMCAT in double figures with 10 points.

1^st Quarter

• Anna Maria shot 10-of-21 from the floor and made three deep balls to lead 24-7.
• Delgado put in nine points, while Parmenter scored eight to lead the AMCATS.
• Thomas made both of her shots to account for four points for Dean.

2^nd Quarter

• Dean went 5-of-15 from the field, while the AMCATS made 8-of-16 attempts to outscore the home team 17-12.
• Thomas had six points and six rebounds in the second for Dean.
• Anna Maria received 10 points off the bench.
• The Bulldogs had a 10-7 advantage in rebounding.

3^rd Quarter

• Dean sophomore Tori Viau (Johnston, R.I.) scored the first five points of the third frame.  
• Anna Maria turned 13 Dean turnovers into 13 points.
• The AMCATS scored 12 of their 22 points in the paint to lead 63-28 after 30 minutes.
• Thomas pulled down four more rebounds for Dean.   

4^th Quarter

• Anna Maria tacked on a 20-4 scoring margin in the fourth.
